Marcy Madzikanda: On the National Art Pass

I’m continually impressed by London. Having lived here for many years, I constantly find new things to do. The arts pass will make it cheaper to access some spaces and help me discover London and the UK more and prompt visits I may never have considered. The membership also supports museums and galleries so definitely not a waste of money considering we are privileged to access most for free.

I share this because as an African woman I am looking for these fertility stories and don’t see them. I am writing this because I was inspired after listening to Dr Zoe on the Fertility Life Raft. A few months ago a ‘black’ female blogger was talking about how she had comments from women in their 30s struggling to conceive and she said she couldn’t understand why they’d waited?!

Marcy Madzikanda: On overcoming mental blocks

I told her I should charge her for it, and also said “I know that I am good at ‘telling people what to do’ and a friend suggested I rephrase that to giving advice”. Which naturally led me to look at being a life coach. As I truly believe that what I do is so much more than ‘giving advice’ I dismissed that last year as I looked at some (life coaches) and issues around authenticity, accountability and credibility came to mind.
